Your car takes you everywhere. Good to have protection along for the ride.

Generali's Optimal car insurance stands up for you in every one of these situations, with 100 million € of liability, marten protection including consequential damage, and new-price for up to 36 months. Planned personally with you.

01 · The risk

More happens on the road than you'd think.

The statutory minimum liability cover is set low, a marten bite can knock out the whole engine, and after a total loss a new car quickly loses thousands of euros in value. Generali's Optimal tariff is built for exactly these cases.

100 million €
Flat liability, up to 15 million € per injured person. Well above the statutory minimum, including environmental damage up to 5 million €.
36 months
New-price and purchase-price compensation. After a total loss or theft you get the new or purchase price reimbursed for up to 3 years.
all animals
Collision with all animals, not just game. Marten and animal bite are covered including consequential damage.

Important: for ordinary gross negligence, such as a red light or phone at the wheel, Generali makes no reduction on comprehensive cover. And within a shared household there's no family recourse.

04 · The strengths

What makes the Optimal tariff special.

Protection that thinks beyond the claim

Many tariffs settle only the bare damage. Beyond that, the Optimal tariff protects the no-claims class you've earned over the years, covers the expensive marten-related consequential damage without a cap, and is ready for today's e-mobility, from the battery to the wallbox.

For young people there's also Young & Drive: driving other people's Generali-insured cars from age 18 to 29 without making the owner's contract more expensive. That way you build up your own claim-free years early. Your car with Generali also earns a bonus in the Vermögenssicherungspolice (all-in-one property & liability policy), which bundles several lines of cover into one contract and so earns up to 25 % customer bonus.

  • Discount protection: no-claims class stays intact despite a claim
  • Fahrer Plus closes the gap for your own injury
  • Marten-related consequential damage with no cap on the amount
  • EV, wallbox and Young & Drive for young drivers

05 · Who it's for

When the Optimal tariff pays off most.

Families

When your kids get their license, it quickly gets expensive. With Young & Drive, young drivers drive other Generali-insured cars without making the family contract more expensive, and build up their own claim-free years.

Commuters & high-mileage drivers

If you're on the road a lot every day, you raise the risk of breakdowns, stone chips and accidents. The assistance package, discount protection and new-price compensation make sure a claim doesn't turn into a costly, lasting burden.

EV drivers

The battery is the most valuable part of an EV. With all-risk protection, new-price for the battery over 36 months and an included wallbox, you're ready for today's electric mobility.

06 · Common questions

Explained simply, no fine print.

Are marten damages including consequential damage covered?

Yes. Generali's partial cover includes marten and animal bite along with the often costly consequential damage, with no cap on the amount. If a marten bites through a cable and the engine is damaged as a result, that consequential damage is covered too.

What is no-claims discount protection?

With no-claims discount protection, your no-claims class stays the same after a claim. You don't lose the discounted premiums you've earned over the years, even though the claim was settled. The protection applies up to 100.000 € per year.

Do you pay in cases of gross negligence?

For ordinary gross negligence, such as running a red light or using your phone at the wheel, Generali makes no reduction on comprehensive cover. A reduction applies only for theft made possible by gross negligence and for alcohol or drugs. In addition, there is no family recourse within a shared household.

What about EVs and the wallbox?

EVs are fully covered, including all-risk protection for the battery and new-price compensation for the battery over 36 months. Your home wallbox is included too, plus quarantine costs up to 1.000 € if the battery has to be stored separately after a claim.

What does car insurance cost?

The premium depends on the vehicle, how you use it, where you live and your no-claims class, so there's no flat figure. In a free initial consultation we work out your right tariff in concrete terms, with no obligation on your part.
